Hi community,
recently we started testing our freshly delivered AD0505C0Z (45A phase current vers.) escs. First of all congrats to the very compact design! Thermal logging of the device also indicates muss improved losses compared to the AD0505A0 (37A vers.) hardware.
However we run into an unexpected stop of the escs during high rpm/phase current operation. I’ll attach the used configuration. What happens is that when running the esc from a 12S-Lipo (48V), above 4000rpm / 20A esc input current, the esc first becomes unstable (fixed) and at slightly higher setpoints suddenly stops. Afterwards it takes a few more seconds than usual to reboot. We run Telega V0.6.
I first lowered the current controlers bandwidth a bit which removed the unpleasant instability and enables stable operation. However close to maximum rpm the esc’s sudden stop remains. Next I added an additional 1mF low ESC capacitor to the input terminals of the esc as the problem seems like a power rail problem, (I am currently unable to measure this.) without much success.
I would like to hear your thoughts on next steps. With the AD0505A0 I also need to lower the current control bandwith but am able to operate reliable up to full throttle.
Kind regards,
Berthold
