I’m trying to use the FG401MA on my pc, but every time I try to set it up the magnet keeps blinking in the frequency of “can down”. What be causing that and how can I solve it?
Instructions (Linux-based) on using the CAN interface can be found here: FluxGrip: Quickstart Guide
For Windows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePTtF7so8Ec
Can you provide more details:
- Which OS are you using?
- Which CAN adapter?
- How have you configured the CAN adapter?
The “can down” blink usually means the node is not seeing valid CAN traffic (or bitrate/termination mismatch). Quick checklist:
- Set CAN bitrate to 1 Mbit/s on both the adapter and FG401MA.
- Ensure proper bus termination: 120 ohm at both ends (about 60 ohm measured across CAN-H/CAN-L with power off).
- Check wiring polarity and ground reference (CAN-H to H, CAN-L to L, shared GND).
- Verify the adapter is actually transmitting frames (some adapters stay silent until explicitly started).
- Try with a short cable and only two nodes first, then add other devices.
If you share your exact adapter model + OS + current bitrate/termination setup, we can narrow it down quickly.
