I have some escs running telega v0.6 on my drone and I wanted to switch to rpm mode. I went to the spreadsheet you guys made with all the different prop values on it but unfortunately my props weren’t there. However, I think I saw something about telega v1 being able to do prop identification so should I just update and use that instead? Will there be any other changes I need to make to the params when updating?
Or, if that doesn’t work, could you guys test the values for the Tmotor P24*7.2" CF and Tmotor P21*6.3 if you have them?
Hi jhonny,
Yes, Telega v1 can be used to identify the moment of inertia of the propeller: Propeller dynamics identification - Telega v1.0 Reference Manual
You could switch to Telega v1, run the identification, then switch back. However, we have found that with Telega v0 specifically, the best results are achieved through manual tuning roughly as described here: Telega v0 quick-start guide - Support / Electric drives - Zubax Forum. The approach I’d recommend is first to zero the PID gains and get a rough approximate tracking using the feedforward terms alone. After that, add the PID terms one by one as described. This way achieving good performance is a relatively straightforward task.
