FluxGrip is a new electro-permanent magnet (EPM) developed by Zubax Robotics for payload attachment in drones and other machinery.
After a series of delays caused by diverse engineering challenges and manufacturing issues, the mass production of FluxGrip FG40 has finally started, and the first pre-orders are already being fulfilled. If your pre-order has not shipped yet, expect the shipment notification within the next 4 weeks as we work through the order backlog on a first-come, first-served basis. New orders are being accepted with the estimated shipping date in late August.
The specifications of FluxGrip FG40 are as follows:
- mass 70 g
- dimensions 41x41x23 mm
- holding force over 20 kgf
- zero power consumption in steady state; switching energy under 4 J
- power supply 4 to 30 VDC
- primary (de)magnetization in under 0.5 s, full magnetization 1.4 s (much faster at higher voltages)
- control and telemetry via CAN (Cyphal/CAN by default; custom protocols upon request), RC PWM, or voltage level
- IP69 sealing; can operate underwater
- operating temperature from -40 to +80 C ambient
- AEC-Q grade 2 qualified components
