The OpenCyphal project has announced the release of the Cyphal/UDP specification — a new transport layer for the Cyphal protocol supporting conventional UDP/IP networks. With the growing popularity of deterministic multi-drop Ethernet networks, UDP makes a strong contender to CAN FD (and CAN XL) in modern vehicular applications.
