I was wondering which cables everyone recommends for constructions of one’s own CAN patch cables (i.e. a link to the cables used in this product).

Can’t give you a specific link but typically, USB cables should be a good fit because they include a twisted pair for data and high-current conductors for ground and +5V. The UAVCAN/CAN cables you referenced can be manufactured at arbitrary length by jDrones or mRobotics.
